Not only do we have our normal amazing conversations about nerd culture, BUT we also bring on the Godfather AKA ODB of Barren Space Productions, Albie, AND one of the host of a NEW Barren Space podcast, Skipper Martin. They talk to us about this new podcast called the 11.22.63 Podcast!! It centers on both the Stephen King book, as well as the upcoming Hulu show adapted from the book, starring James Franco! It’s a good time, I promise!!
Our awesome interview for this show comes from the funny Rich Douek!! He is publishing an IDW book entitled “Gutter Magic.” This is such a cool book, asking you the question: What would you do if you’re born to a family of magic, but for some reason, your magic doesn’t work? He takes us on a journey, as to how he came up with the book, the world, and all of the different creatures that you find throughout this incredible world. He also gives us some insight on what it’s like to create a book for IDW. You should definitely go check it out, it hits the stores of your local comic book shop on January 13th!! LIVE from the Kress Cinema & Lounge theater in Greeley, Colorado, we are bringing you The Walking Dead special event!!
This special edition of the Thinking Outside the Long Box podcast comes directly from the Kress, in front of a “studio audience.” We spoke about everything “The Walking Dead.” What our theories were for that night (season finale), who might die, who might live, if there would be any special guest, etc. If you love The Walking Dead, then this is the episode for you! We also took questions/theories from the audience! It was our first time doing this sort of thing, and though a little rough around the edges, it definitely won’t be our last!!
Because of the time frame in front of the Walking Dead, we also bring to you, THREE amazing interviews!! Our first interview comes from the winner of our #mynerdroom contest!! Her name is April, and not only does she have one of the coolest all around “nerd rooms,” but she is also an accomplished cosplayer!! Our second interview comes from the awesome duo of Chris & Jason of Themis Comix! They tell us about all of their comic book genius, Baron Von Saturday, and soo much more! Jason will also be doing something a little special for us in the future!! Our last interview (ends the episode) is will Lilly, from Season 3 of the TBS television show, “King of the Nerds.” This is an amazing interview, and Lilly is uber nice, and she is SUPER enthusiastic to tell us all about the TV show. Plus, not only is she a TV star, she is also a great cosplayer!!

QLP Michelle Joyner Interview

9246302-largeKnown for her roles in the vertigo inducing Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone, The Star studded thriller Outbreak, and many memorable television guest appearances like a woman scorned turned monster in the seventh season X-Files episode “Chimera”, Michelle Joyner, is an actor, writer, and mother, who has had a career spanning almost three decades. Using her talent and adaptability Michelle has been able to play a diverse list of characters on both stage and screen. Quantum Leap fans may know her best as Sister Angela in  “The Right Hand of God” where she played a nun who inherited a boxer’s contract who had to win the big fight to be able to build a dream church she envisioned as a little girl. Albie absolutely loved talking with her, we hope you love listening to their conversation.

Jay-D-Schwartz_by-John-RussoJay D. Schwartz brings extensive public relations experience and the professional zeal of “an aggressive New Yorker” to his approach of doing publicity. His eclectic roster of clients includes Scott Bakula, Rocky Carroll, Cheryl Ladd, Mary Murphy, Jaclyn Smith, Louis Van Amstel, and Mary Wilson among others.
Best known for his personality representation, Schwartz achieved initial success in the field of theatre. In his first position in PR at Solters/Roskin/Friedman in New York, he worked on the Broadway hits “Nicholas Nickleby,” “42nd Street” and “Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music.” After a brief stint with Burnham-Callaghan & Associates working on accounts such as Patti LaBelle, Al Green and Elliot Gould, Schwartz worked on “Night Mother,” “Hurlyburly” (both New York and Los Angeles productions) and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” with Broadway producers Fred Zollo and Barbara Ligeti.
In 1985, Jay moved from New York to Los Angeles and joined Nanci Ryder Public Relations, which evolved into Baker/Winokur/Ryder Public Relations (BWR). Jay opened his own PR firm, JDS, in 1995. Over the years, Jay has worked with such diverse clientele as Christopher Walken, Drew Barrymore, Jean Claude Van Damme, Lauren Bacall, Danny Aiello, Anita Baker, Gladys Knight, Luc Robitaille, Sugar Ray Leonard and many others.
Jay has always approached publicity with a personal touch, merging a roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic with an emphasis on building and maintaining relationships at both the personal and professional level.

Diamond-FarnsworthRichard “Diamond” Farnsworth is an Emmy nominated stunt coordinator who has worked on some of the most well known movies and television shows in recent Hollywood history. Some of his projects include, First Blood, Ghostbusters, The Terminator, They Live, Weekend at Bernie’s, The Fugitive, The Usual Suspects, JAG, Star Trek: Enterprise, NCIS, and most recently NCIS: New Orleans.  He has doubled for Scott Bakula for most of Scott’s career, including all of Quantum Leap where he was the stunt coordinator on every episode. Albie recently was able to speak with Diamond about his life, Quantum Leap, and the rises and falls of being a real life Fall Guy.
